…was pretty much the same as day 1. It´s going to take a while to break the habit of having a routine!
I went sightseeing in the morning – going back to the oldcolonial city we had visited the night before.
The pics of/from the Basilica were taken after a prety hairy climb up some scaffolding, pretending to be staircase, to the very top of one of the towers. I think I was allowed although there was no one there supervising. They definately have a healthy disregard for heath and safety in Ecuador. I had to navigate past a whole road of workmen with angle grinders and pneumatic drills just to get into the building.
After lunch i went back to the school for 4hrs of ´total immersion´spanish lessons. Jeez that hurt. I haven´t studied for over ten years. It was a bit like taking a car thats been sat in a garage for a decade and thrashing it around a racetrack with no warm up. It took me about half dozen mojitos and a couple of hours of salsa in a club just to feel normal again afterwards (and no doubt to forget everything I´d learnt)
Slept till 11am today. Lazy lunch. Followed by more sleeping in the afternoon. Ahhh, thats more like it..
